Julius Rosenberg was born May 12, 1918 in New York City. Ethel Greenglass was born September 28, 1915 in New York City. Julius and Ethel met at Downtown Talmud Torah Religious School and then attended Seward Park High School together. The couple was married in the summer of 1939. 1942, Julius and Ethel became full members of the American Communist Party. The Rosenberg's dropped out of the Communist Party in 1943 to pursue espionage activities.

Ethel and Julius were found guilty on the charges of espionage on April 5, 1951. The Rosenberg's lived on death row for the next two years at Sing Sing Prison. While on death row, both continued to maintain their innocence. However, on June 19, 1951, Julius was executed and Ethel put to death in the electric chair.
