Wen Ho Lee was born in 1939 in Nantou, Taiwan. Lee went by his birth name, he had no code name. Wen Ho Lee married in1969 and moved around continuously in the US. Lee was believed to have been passing on information to officials in Beijing in the mid 1980's. Lee had made two trips to Beijing in 1986 and 1988. He has acknowledged meeting Chinese weapon researcher's on both of his trips.

The Lee household was searched in April of 1999, where 400, 000 to 800, 000 pages of classified documents, such as the blueprints for the entire American nuclear arsenal, were found. Lee was arrested Decenmber 10, 1999 and put in solitary confinement. After thousands of interviews and extensive investigations, researcher's have still come up with no motives.
Lee continues to plead innocent. Many believe Lee is innocent and did not deserve the jail term that he recieved.
